I watch F1 religiously and I was wondering if anyone else did the same...

Perhaps not religiously, but we here at Fireball do have a passion for F1 racing.

Well, maybe religiously was the wrong choice of word... I'm just saying that I talk F1 like people from TN talk about NASCAR (even though I watch NASCAR as well).:lol2:
I don't follow it much, but it is my favorite motorsport...

Try to catch it every week, but the Tivo misses it a lot for some reason.
I love the track changes at Indy for the USGP. Also love how Louis closed out Alonzo. So much for team orders. Match on!!!!! This kid could be the next Shuey.
I can't believe they are removing the traction control from the cars next year. Did you see how often it engaged on the in car cameras???? Could get even uglier on the first turn next year.

I'm a little concerned with the removal of the traction control as well. The only thing is, they said they were going from the V10 to the current V8 for the sake of slowing the cars down. As we can easily see, that hasn't happened... actually overall speeds have gone up since the V8 was introduced. Top end was lost and you don't see the crazy MPH marks that we saw a few years back at Indy (somewhere around 240mph on the straight away) to about 205-210 this year. We'll see what the engineers do to counter the "no TCS" rule, I'm sure they'll just tweak the suspensions to transfer maximum amounts of weight to the rear to increase traction... but who knows... those guys are magicians... Probably explains why I want to be an F1 engineer... :D

Jensen is sucking ass right now... His factory Honda is REALLY unreliable this season, yet the client Super Aguri driver Takuma Sato is having a much better season. You wouldn't be able to tell by looking at the points (Button has 1 to Sato's 2), but the difference is like night and day.

This weekend is at the 'Ring. I can't wait to watch. Now with Ferraris actually performing, and Louis Hamilton not having a great day at Silverstone, this weekend could be interesting.
Do we know who qualified for the pole yet? Which day does that happen?

Oooh, I've been lazy about getting F1 into the mem'd list on my Tivo, this might be motivation to get it done.
:( I'd actually quite like to watch that...

Usually qualifying is on the Saturday before the race. My TiVo is set to record it, so I'll know by then. Practice rounds are on Friday's. Luckily, this race will be on Speed, so I don't have to worry about the TiVo not catching it over on Fox. Which also means we won't be watching it on tape delay to show it over here at 1pm.
Maybe next season we can start having local F1 watching parties. Who likes that idea???

I feel bad for Alonso. The team clearly favors Hamilton.

Well, that's because Hamilton doesn't treat the members on his team like Dick's and second class citizens just because he's the driver. Alonso thinks that he wins the races without the help of anyone on pit lane... Hamilton knows that without them, he'd never win.

The concrete floors should allow for easy cleanup when you hurt yourself with that.

It will even have a bar full of Red Bull, although I doubt it will rival the Red Bull density ChrisV10 has, I don't drink THAT much of it. :lol2:

He may be on flights; pilots have a couple weeks downtime per month and then fly a whole bunch.
yeah, nice job with the pool. Did they get that shit sorted out yet?
