Coming up soon on July 7th and 8th will be HPDE in three groups as well as the July Radical Cup race event. Registration for all is online at:

http://pbocflorida.com/

The price for HPDE stuff is $350 for the entire weekend, you get 1.5 hours of driving time in three sessions each day. Race drivers have test, pre-qual and sprint race Saturday, pre-qual and two sprints Sunday.

I've driven with PBOC before and they run an excellent operation, efficient and fun. Jrfootin and Shuey2k are both in the racing that weekend. I'll be putting around with the solo DE drivers. :)

Just got word that I will be back in action with my car for the event; they determined that my fuel pump is not working correctly and is only providing 20% of the normal pressure when at wide open throttle but nearly correct pressure at idle, which is why it was difficult to track down. Radical North America has a spare pump which will be put into the car possibly later this week or early next week, they'll do an oil change and a few other things to get the car prepped and then bring it to me at Sebring.

If you just drive around at idle, you could take the car out this weekend. Dave, you have to learn to think out of the box. Remember, Chin says it's not racing.

I don't need to do that, I still have Jrfootin's car in my trailer!

Ok, now I'm confused. You didn't break it, so you didn't buy it. Is this one of those possession is 9/10 of the law deals???

He wanted to leave earlier in the day so he said if I wanted to keep driving, I could trailer it back for him. I was bringing the trailer home empty anyway since Radical took my car so that worked out well for me and probably saved him $50 in gas. :)

Anyone know what PBOC's policy is on passengers? Shot them an email today but haven't heard back. Are they like Chin where you pay a small fee and can ride with any solo or instructor driver?

I can't say for sure but I think it is a non issue and you should be able to take a passenger out.

Turns out my fuel pump was fine after all and it was just severely deteriorating fuel lines in the tank. May have been defective, may have been fine for UK but not US gas, may have been caused by the car sitting in Atlanta for months with no fuel stabilizer, etc. Regardless, the tubing has all been changed, fuel filter changed, fuel injectors cleaned and I'm good to go. Maybe if my injectors were clogged all this time I was running lean, hope I don't lose power now. :)

Wierd. Can't recall hearing of that happening in a car (at least not one that wasn't left out to rot for year.) I wonder if it was defective.

Good news that you're ready to rumble.:t-drive:

Apparently not:

Hi David
PBOC only allows Instructors to take a passenger in the car.
We can get your friend a ride in an instructor's car with no problems.
Thanks
Joanne
