Coin collectors?

Hey I was just wondering if any of you guys are coin collectors or collect/trade precious metals.

I got into precious metals about a year ago. I purchased my first American silver eagle bullion rounds at about $20/ozt. I got them as an investment and to start collecting an asset. I sold some of my ASE's last semester for $29/ozt. so 45% profit margin in a few months wasn't bad!(Wish I had bought more!)

I have also got into collection coins for numismatic interest too but thats a really expensive hobby at the moment so I mostly do it for PM speculation.

Just curious if this topic is something anyone else is interested in.

I have a lot of random old/classic coins, but I don't know anything about them.

I'm not a coin guy, but I have been stacking silver and gold lately. I pretty much went all in... meaning I had to cut some of my expensive hobbies! $100+/oz doesn't seem out of reach given how bad our economy really is.

I used to collect coins on a major scale until my ex-wife took all the coins in the divorce. When she left, she took them and was supposed to return them to me but never did. I feel that if I had to give that up to get rid of her, it was a small price to pay!

I am now trying to get back to where I was when I first met my ex-wife. I have filled the Whitman folders for the penny, nickel, dime, quarter and dollars for 1950 and newer. I am now working on my <1950 collection. Once I have done that, I am going to probably start going back to the Mercury Dimes again. Those are just my favorite coin. I do not know why.

My father in law collects coins but also a lot of dollars of various types; I should snap some pics of some of them at some point if I can. He has some very unique items such as one of the $10,000 bills from the Binion casino collection, which itself is one of only a few hundred known $10k bills that exist.

Erik- I agree with you I dont feel it is too far out of reach! I actually think it may get there relatively soon! Keep stacking!
