So, I'm now looking to two cars, both 2006 Orange egears. One is an SE with custom wheels and some other mods, but has 5k miles on it. The other is a base but with every available option and has only 1k miles on it. If they are both the same price, which would you get?

This is the base one

This is the SE

Driven Both and would take the SE , It has a more firm ride based on the sport suspension , The interiors are better appointed on the SE than the regular G , Back up camera is nice too. Plus the SE holds value better than the regular G.

Good luck

That SE looks like Alan Lambo's car.

Not that a minor's opinion matters, but I'd take the original. Rims are no problem to get.

Don't know if he is selling it or not but note the AZ license plate on the SUV in the background and the fact that it is a 6 speed.

I'd go with an SE if given the choice, I love the contrasting color, although not sure if I'd go for that SE since it's been drag raced at least a few times. :)

I like the looks of the SE... but with I think you should get the Base and then throw some rims on it. if you are about to spend what a G runs for, then I'm sure that some sweet lookin' wheels and a maybe some suspension modifications will make it feel and look just like the SE that's being sold. And not to mention what's been said about the current owner (if it turns out to be the case)... Sounds like those 5000 miles may have been super harsh. Good luck with the buy... I wish I had that problem! :D

come to think of it, Allan IS currently looking for an SLR, so theres a high probability that it's his. He's also stated in the past that he would never go to lambo of phoenix

The car is built to be driven. I would buy this car over some car from some guy that never drove his/her car. I would think you would understand since your a racer.

On topic, buy the SE. It has everything you would want in a car, rims, Lowered, Painted Calipers, Gruppe M Intake, Clear Bra, Built in Radars, Custom Floor Mats, and exhaust(and the exhaust sounds sick). :headbang: And you cant beat the price.

I agree with you but both are 06's and the one that hasn't been to the strip only has 1000 miles, so it's still new enough that even if it's been sitting a bit it hasn't done any harm. With only 5000 miles on the one that's been drag raced, the clutch could be 75% gone so a big bill could be right around the corner.

If Chris at Premier has it now I'm sure he can tell us more about the condition, although I believe LP sponsors still aren't allowed to post on this forum so he may not be able to.

I talked to him this weekend about it. If it was not in good shape he would not have it. If he has a car its good and I would not hesitate to buy one from him.

a couple of runs at the strip is nothing. You can do as much wear from one red light to the next and no one would know.

I'm not saying I would buy the car, just saying that when some one is giving a play by play on their driving experiences it always seems like the car would have had a harder life than one where you are none the wiser.

What ever you look at have a good PPI done. The car is 6 speed so you won't know how much clutch is leaft as only egear can give an indication without pulling it out as far as I'm awear...
