View Full Version : How Many Miles Have You Put On?

Shawn

My wife bought a corvette about 3 months ago or so and I jumped in it the other day and noticed it has almost 4k miles on it already! Makes me wonder how many miles we'll rack up on the lambo :)

I wouldn't drive it on long trips or in bad weather, but I also wouldn't hesitate to drive it just for the sake of adding miles on it. So how many miles have you added to your lambo's odometer? And what's the longest trip you took it on?

you'll find most lambo owners, unlike ferrari owners actually drive their cars on a regular basis and have quite a few miles racked up.

ok im the king on racking on lambo miles . i bought a 97 sv with 4k miles in april of 04 and sold it last summer ( 06 ) with 30k .you can see the car at zr automotives website . its a canadian high end car dealer that is trying to get almost 200k for my car when i sold it to him for 120k . needless to say hes still sitting on the car a year later. its the yellow sv in his inventory . he originally had the car listed for only 8k kilos . i called up , raised hell on f-chat and he changed it . would never EVER buy a car from that guy . or any car out of canada for that matter . they have no real law against turning back miles i hear . i just bought a 02 murci with 5k miles in the 2nd week of april and it now has almost 10k miles . yes i drive the shit outta my cars but thats why i bought them . as well i drive my cars fucking hard . i drive it like its a lambo . i hate these guys that dont drive the cars and when they do they drive like old ladies . i paid out the ass in maint. bills on the sv and im sure the murci may go the same way . as a mater of fact i put about $70k into my sv in the time i owned it , ouch . but worth every penny i felt . the 70k was maint. ,few clutches , wing , small upgrades , and painting the nose about 4x from the chips and scrapes . i got smart and eventually got the 3m clear bra and shielding around the car , best move i made . anyone put more miles on their lambos ? if so please tell me and make me feel better , lol . looking foward to the responses on this post , you guys must think im nuts , lol .

Yep, if you don't drive it you should sell it! I have about 3600 on mine since last October when I picked it up with 70.

I'm always amazed when I see these 2006 lambos for sale that only have 1k miles on them. I would probably drive that in the first day I got it :lol2:

How do they only drive 1k miles and trade it in? Was it just an impulse buy and they realized they couldn't afford it, or were they just total garage queens and then hardly ever drove them?

total? i've owned practically every year of diablo since inception 91 to 01 (6.0) and probably have logged over 40k total in all.

i actually went from diablo to murcie and now back to diablos....have always been a diablo faithful for its epic look and timeless design and will always be.

there is a slight chance i might give the murcie another try in the future but it will undoubtedly be of a different color, something more lambo-isque (orange or verde ithica) and Egear instead of 6sds.....

I drive my murci pretty much everyday, same when I had my diablo. But my office is only 10 miles away from my home and generally I'm coming to and from or somewhere in between. So I get to drive it everyday unless rain and not put a ton of miles on it. But I also live in Ohio where I cant drive them 4-5 months of the year.

My monthly average has fallen in the past few months. When I got the G I was driving constantly, but then I had the g-wagen upgraded with all that extra power so now I drive it more than I used to, and then once I picked up the race car 1/2 my weekends are spent away so I don't end up driving the Lambo as much. Need to work on that.

Actually I should be tacking on miles again pretty soon; once I have my new kart the track will be a nice 40 mile shot down the interstate and I'm keeping the kart there so most weekends I am in town I'll be able to look forward to that drive once or twice per weekend.

Yeah, the sprinklers around here are the bane of my existance. Since I always drive around with the windows down, the sprinklers are NOT my friends. It's the best when one is broken and it's spraying in such an arc that it goes DIRECTLY into the sunroof.

Speaking of this, I had the absolute nightmare situation occur a couple weeks ago. I'm pulling into the parking lot of Bahama Breeze, top is down of course, and here comes Mr. Sprinkler going past the curb where it should have stopped and turned back, stream of water is now in the street and I'm headed right for it, there's a car directly behind me. I stop in the middle of the entrance, the stream of non-potable stink water is headed right for my car and then ultimately the inside of the car thanks to the top being down and I can do nothing about it. I was about to gun it and blast through it as fast as I can to hopefully minimize what ended up in the car when the damn thing stopped and started going back the other direction.

Pretty sure that Roy will chime in here and tell you that he has put all kinds of miles on various models and the ones that are driven very regularly do not have issues. The newer models just allow you to get away with not driving them as frequently.

A Porsche is definitely a 'better' daily driver though, if that's what he wants; it's quiet, mileage is better, has more creature comforts, much smaller and easier to park in the city (if applicable) and you blend right in with the other 300,000 Porsche owners so less chance of someone causing issues. :lol2:

My Murci seems to be indestructable ( oh shit im gonna pay for that one , jinx ) because i drive my cars HARD !!!!! My Diablo i felt was an exeception , in the 2 years i owned it i put in over 25k miles on it & $70k in repairs , parts and painting of the nose 3x . I really didnt do the homework i should have b4 i bought the car ( car fax , service records etc.. ) and i learned the hard way in the pocket . I found out that my car was a leased out car from the toy store in Fla at 1 time ( never would buy a formally leased car again ) , that the car came through Canada a few times ( was a Canadian model Diablo SV) where they have no real laws preventing milage roll backs . So who even knows if the milage i got it with was correct . I feel that it def. wasnt now. Also when i did perform a car fax after owning it a while , i did see milage discrepences . Now the car was in kilos and it looked to me that it was inspected in kilos at some points and miles at others . Wasnt sure . I feel that this may be correct as this happened while i owned the car as well . It was inspected in kilos at 1 time and miles at another .
Bottom line is do your homeowrk b4 you buy the car , as i did with my Murci . I was anal as fuck and happy i was . Car fax , service history , mechanical inspection etc... The car has been good so far to me ( about 5k miles ). I felt in the beginning when i got the Murci that this was Audi's influence on the car as there was a night and day difference between the 2 . But i feel that i really well kept Diablo that was cared for , serviced correctly and timely would be fine as well . Miles dont scare me , i would rather get a car with a few miles on it , not a ton . But i wanna see that the car was driven and how the service records match up to the miles . Actually my next Lambo would be either a 6.0 , a gt or an lp 640 . Always loved the Diablo and would love another ............

I think I've got a few miles on my G. So far, I've put on about 9,500 miles since December (7 months), so I'm averaging about 1,357 miles/month...and that doesn't include the 8,000 miles I've put on the Ferrari in 13 months.

Yea, we do a LOT of drives.

You mean you buy a lot of unleaded! :lol2:

These posts are very inspiring, I want to go drive the car right now; maybe I'll quit work.

Would any of you guys buy and trust a lambo w/ over 50K miles on it from 1996-2001?

I might be more inclined to restrict the selection to the 6.0 if it is over 50k miles, but if an older one had been very well maintained, with documents and proper PPI (and test drive for sure) then they could be fine too. They're meant to be driven, so higher miles isn't necessarily bad, you just may have more maintenance to look forward to on the things that start to go on any car with higher mileage; cv joints and the like.

Worse. They'll do a 180 in their pickup truck (don't know why it's always pickups), drive 100mph to catch up, then hang out the window and take a picture with their cell phones. Amazing.

Oh, and BTW, :Welcome:.

When I had my 04 Gallardo I put on about 5000 Miles in six months and over 8000 Miles in 16 months in my old 03 Murci.

I currently have a CLS 500 that i put on about 37,000 miles in 2.5 years. Not much on the SE.

No, that car can only jump 150 foot ravines at extreme angles even though it's only traveling 60 mph and has no ramp.
