When I test drove the Gallardo last week I felt like I was winding through the gears a little too fast. Does anyone know what the optimal (approximate) rpm shift points are?

Isn't by definition the optimum shift points at the HP peak for that gear? Once the HP starts decending, you should be in a higher gear. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this. In any case, it's got to be something north of 5K rpm.
I definitely short-shift my Murci while driving around town. It's a noise issue. When I'm out on date night, I don't want my wife going deaf in the passenger seat. On the track, no question I'll let the beast rev higher.
Anyone have a dyno run for the G?
drive it for a while, its just like any manual. You'll know when to shift. The only way it differs from a regular 6 speed is you use paddles rather than a stick and you dont have a clutch.

You're correct, and I believe the G makes peak HP just before redline, maybe just north of 7500 rpm.
I can't wait to hear the Murci on the track, especially as I pass it and catch you in the Zdoc cam. :)
catch you in the Zdoc cam. :)
