This guy runs an exotic rental biz in San Fran, the interesting thing about the article is it says they outfit the cars with not only a GPS tracking device which records speed, brakes, balance, etc. but their black box will shut the car off if the driver attempts to drive it to a known race track, or Mexico! :) That's pretty interesting use of technology.

$2,800 hurts my brain.

I'd rather just buy a cheap beater and flog the shit out of it until it broke and sell it for parts. Probably a better way to blow three grand in a day.

Yeah, I guess enough people rent exotics to make it a profitable business but I don't see spending that much $$ to drive an exotic for one day, and typically it's limited to 100 or 150 miles as well. I guess the high school reunion pressure keeps it going. LOL

Yeah there's a place in Chicago that I found and I was gonna rent one for a day as kinda like an all day test drive a few months back and decided not to. They charged $1500 per day and only allowed 75 miles and charged $5 per mile after that and wanted a $5,000 security deposit as well. I wonder who would spend that just for a day. That's like the equivalent of a $55,000 a month payment after you factor in the excess mileage. :fgay:

Yeah, I'd rather go drop the $1500 on a hand of blackjack, at least you have a chance of doubling your money rather than pissing it away in an hour's worth of driving. :)
