World Debut at Geneva
With its 2001 TechArt GTstreet based on the Porsche 911 Turbo of the 996 model series, TechArt Automobildesign created one of the fastest and most powerful street-legal sports cars of its time. The next evolutionary stage of this fascinating concept celebrates its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2007: The new TechArt GTstreet based on the 911 Turbo of the latest 997 series.

Like the predecessor the new GTstreet edition centers on a powerful engine: The 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat engine is modified by the TechArt engine specialists and now develops 630 hp / 463 kW at 6,800 rpm, up from standard 480 hp / 353 kW. Peak torque increases from 620 Nm to 820 Nm at 4,500 rpm.

Thus equipped the TechArt GTstreet delivers performance that firmly places it among the world’s fastest sports cars: 0 – 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, 200 km/h after just 10.9 seconds and a top speed of 345 km/h speak volumes.

The body kit for the TechArt GTstreet was created in the wind tunnel, and offers an optimal symbiosis of aerodynamic downforce, minimized drag and striking design.

I've yet to see a 997 911 bodykit that does it for me outside of RUF's kit. TechArt always seems a like they're trying to add new lines to the car versus improving on the ones that are already there. Though I can't argue that they don't have the performance part down.

I'm still a little unclear on RUF, do they take stock Porsche's and modify them or do they have a closer relationship with the factory and actually take the cars before completion or something similar and modify from there, ala AMG?

RUF does both, they modify existing cars which is there primary thing, then i believe they take unfinished cars from the factory and rework them kind of like AMG. Dont quote me on that though

I'll quote you!

RUF has a unique relationship with Porsche. Somehow he fenagles them to give him Porsche's that have not been branded with VIN and then he tunes the hell out of them and issues them his own VIN that is registered with Porsche AG and the government. In the eyes of the governement, RUF is almost considered a manufacturer, except Porsche builds the car... and RUF makes it better. :lol2:

TechArt will make the wheels on my Porsche, bar none. I love those five spokes!
