If rumors are true, Aston Martin is set to well and truly spread its wings under its new Prodrive-led ownership group. According to AutoWeek, the British manufacturer is looking closely at producing a mid-engined supercar to rival the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini.

Ok, just answered my own question. APPARENTLY, word on the street is, that someone heard, from someone, who knows someone that MIGHT be related to someone that knows someone who works at Aston Martin that Aston Martin will begin taking orders for the DBS in Oct of 2007 for 2008 delivery. Word is 300 are to be made priced at around $250,000 a piece.

The DBS will most likely have a V12 pumping out around 500hp. It will also have a tuned exhaust and will shed a few pounds thanks to carbon fiber. Making it more powerful than the Vanquish yet lighter than the DB9. There will even be a special colour for the DBS dubbed "Casino Ice" which is a dark titanium grey/silver with a slight bluish hint. Needless to say, car #007 will fetch quite a bit more than asking price the second time it comes back to the market...

I want one... I want one!
