So I'm leaving a club last night about 3:30 AM, I had a few drinks over the course of the night but nowhere near something I'd need to worry about. So when I get out to the street, I get on it just like you should in a Lamborghini. Next thing you know there's a cop lighting me up. :lol2:
He pulled me over for 'improper start', which I had never heard of, but evidently rapid acceleration is not the proper way to put your car into motion in Tampa. He asked the traditional "I guess you know why I pulled you over?" line, but I replied no sir, I didn't exceed the speed limit, I signaled and was not driving erratically. Then he explained the improper start and asked for insurance and registration, which I keep in my laptop bag in the trunk, so now I have to get out of the car to get this stuff for him, and since I pulled over in front of another club that was down the street, there was a crowd starting to form that was cheering and yelling. :) I don't think he liked the attention because once I started digging through the bag he was like "Is your license going to come up clean?", yes, "Okay, well get back in the car and I'll cut you loose if it checks out. But don't get on the gas like that."
So that was that; guess I can't use the gas pedal anymore. :fu:

Good thing he didn't ask the ol' "Have you had anything to drink tonight, sir?" routine. :D

It's happened to me before. It was raining and I just nailed the gas for some reason and all I did was spin the tires for about 10 seconds. So I'm a bit down the street after shifting to second and suddenly there are lights in my rearview. Long story short, cop told me to be careful in the rain.

That's dumb; what did he think would happen in a car with 300+ HP and all the weight in the front? I spin the rear wheels in my friggin' Avalanche all the time when the road is wet, not even trying.

fuckin gay. i cant believe he wasted his time on you. it was merely a way to get a close look at your car. what a tool. there was probably a real speeder on this street comming up to him he could have stopped. Would it have been a different response if he had said, "I wanna hear that again"?

He could have come over and asked for a look before I even left the parking lot too, it was one of the cops that was sitting out in front of the club.

My neighbor's kid got a ticket for that in Pennyless Park for doing that in his Dodge Charger. Could have been worse.

I guess I should be thankful I didn't get a ticket, not that I deserved one, friggin drunk people come swerving out of the bars and clubs all night and they don't get pulled over. I don't have good luck with police.
I got pulled over twice in the span of eight minutes on Dale Mabry a few months ago in the g-wagen; first stop got me a ticket for 64 in a 45, second stop ended with me having two friends come get me so one could drive me home. I hadn't had a drink in several hours and this cop really wanted to bust me for DUI so she had me do just about every test in the book; touch your nose, follow the light, alphabet backwards, walk the line, hold a foot up in the air and I think maybe one or two others, I had no issue with any of them, so finally she was like well I think if I took you in you'd fail the breathalyzer but you passed all of these tests so I'll give you the choice of having someone come get you or taking you in. I said where's my cell phone. :lol2:

Lol - improper start. You should have blamed the E-gear!

:lol2: These friggin paddles don't make any sense officer!
In Texas its called "Exhibition of acceleration". I got a ticket for it back in the day. I did not even spin the tires. I just got the car up to speed faster than the rest of the group. Next thing I know I got rollers lighting me up.

I had a friend who got a ticket a couple weeks ago here in Wi for braking to hard. He was driving a 2 lane county road and a sheriff was coming at him in the other lane. His V1 went off,and he pounded the brakes. He says he didn't leave any rubber on the road only that the cop *observed* the front end of his car lowering rapidly. I think they make those laws up as they need them.
Of course having the radar detector stuck on the middle of his windshield probably had something to do with it.

He should have told the cop the lifting system was malfunctioning; assuming he has a model that has that. :)

I should've mentioned,he was driving a 993. Lamborghini's in WI are as rare as tits on a bull. I know of 4.. 3 Gallardos and one Countach.
Whenever I take mine out,it's like a damn rockstar.
The first couple of times it was kind of fun, having so many people take pics of the car..but it did get old quickly.
