View Full Version : Pimping out my ride

I'm driving down to LA next weekend. I'm staying with one of my friends who owns StickerCity. I want to have him pimp out my car and was wondering what experiences you guys have with the materials he uses. Also curious about safety, will it be a big deal to have blacked out lights and reflectors? Also, if you think something would look cool or not, let me know. My car is currently Nightfall Blue (dark metallic blue) with black wheels, black wheels badges, black valve caps, black nose badge, and black and blue interior. I'll be getting my gas cap either powdered coated or stickered black and I'll be powdercoating my diffuser.

http://stickercity.com/store/home.php?cat=2260

The items I'm interested in:

Back Bumper Reflector Smoke Film Overlay, if he has it cut for my reflectors. I changed mine to European style.

Either Smoke Tail Light or Reverse Light Overlay Film or a combination of the two.

Headlight Protection Film - Either in smoke, blue, or black.

Third Brake Light Film Overlay

Front & Back Side Reflector Smoke Out Film

And possibly Racing Stripes in Grey or Metallic Grey.

I think the racing stripes would look nice. Looks like they are really cheap and they can be removed easily.

should photoshop a couple different colors though

Yep, photoshop is awesome for that, I used it a lot before deciding on wheels and colors. Of course it takes me a damn hour to just remove the background from something because I'm not very good at it.

Haha.... :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Nice photoshop skills you got there. You might want to stick to driving. :p

And I should probably upload current photos of my car with the different interior and badge.

Almost forgot about this handy configurator.

http://uyesugionline.com/Elise/EliseViewer.aspx

http://uyesugionline.com/Elise/StriperPage.aspx?CarColor=Nightfall_Blue&StripeColor=Silver

Except Nightfall Blue is darker than the color they have pictured for it.

I also like this guy's stripe, but it wouldn't work on the Elise. :( There would be a sharp drop from the roof to the trunk.

I like mine better, the yellow really sets it off, especially the antennae.

AgentTripleX

Thanks for the antennaes. And what do they help with? Will I help bees find their way back to the hive?

Since ya'll are poking fun of me. Here's my pchop. Sad that I actually studied art my first two years of college.

BTW - here are photos of what the car looks like now. Which reminds me I also want to paint my calipers. Probably black, but I've heard it's complicated. And I need to pick up some black bolts from BMW for my wheels.

Black bolts would be good, the shiny ones stand out.

After giving it much thought I've realized that stripes might be a little bit to much for my car. I want to be in stealth mode. But I did remember I need to tint my windows ASAP and pick up those black bolts too.

X, when did I become "this guy"????? I think I am hurt. As, for your car it sounds like you made up you mind. But I think black stripes with the black wheels would look excellent.

Now baby, you know that ain't true. I love those hot girls at your house. And all those hot cars. Yum. I would do anything for them. You're not just some guy. You are "the guy". I want to do the black stripes, but my buddy Andy, at StickerCity, thinks they will be a waste. I kind of trust him, not only 'cause he lets me sleep in his bed instead of the floor, but because he makes a living off of stripes. I'd like to think he knows what he's talking about. But maybe after a while, when I'm really bored, I'll do it just for the hell of it. I really do want stripes, believe me. Just want to be understated. For now I'm tinting all three windows 30%.

markr
04-24-2007, 08:53 AM
Does he think it will be a waste because they will be hard to see because your car is such a dark shade of blue. If so that makes sense . . .

AgentTripleX
04-24-2007, 10:05 AM
Yep. That's why he recommended a grey like yours. And after seeing yours I think two stripes is cheesy and I want one, but it wouldn't look the same in the back. :( Just say it, you have the cooler car. ;)

pdisme
04-24-2007, 10:39 AM
I like the single stripe, but I also really like the back of the Exige better the way it comes up over the rear window.

Here's what the wheels look like now. Still need to paint the calipers. But I think it looks sharp. Painted rotors, painted wheels, black lotus wheel badges, black lotus valve caps, and black bmw bolts.

Pimping ain't easy. Here's the latest on my ride. I finally found a place that will powdercoat my diffuser and gas cap. Currently looks like this.

If he wants something street legal, its hard to beat the Exige S as a track car indeed. The only thing that could be better would be a GT3RS, but even then...

I wouldn't of showed the elise either. lol. Maybe they got rid of it. But that thing was hideous. Yellow car, full yellow wheels, yellowed out black vents and parts. and then enough black stickers, half black doors, wings, doodads, etc stuck onto it to make a hyundai ricer jealous. I would of put money on there being lighted windshield wiper nozzles installed on it.

I like the box though. (you can take that to mean whatever you want)

They totalled the Elise, hence the Exige S. I never got to see the Elise in person. Glad you like the box. :p
