Volkswagen Group could dispose of its high-end supercar brands Bugatti and Lamborghini, according Porsche boss and VW supervisory board member Wendelin Wiedeking.

When asked about the fate of the two brands in an interview with an industry newspaper, Wiedeking is quoted as saying ‘no toys anymore’.

I think that Bugatti is not profitable at all. They lose money with every sell of the Veyron. But Lambo is profitable for the first time in a long time. Why sell that?

Maybe someone up top is concerned with all the deaths of people in Lambos or something. (A few months back, I remember reading about accident after accident with Murci's flipping due to being driven stupid, every single week it seemed.)

The article said something about the boss man not liking that Porsche is not their exotic brand currently; and Porsche is super profitable.

Regarding the deaths, you might be thinking of the alleged defect that causes a Murci to suddenly turn right, but of the cars where this has happened, all were running aftermarket wheels and no one has investigated thoroughly enough to pin-point a cause. It's never happened with the stock wheels.

The fact that Lamborghini has finally inched it's way into the black makes it the perfect time to get top dollar for it. I haven't read a thing to support this, but it would not shock me if some Japanese automaker came in and purchased it.

This article is a little outdated. No need to fret. At least about Lambo. Not sure what the deal is with Bugatti though.
