I am curious to see which model Countach is prefered, 400S or a Down Draft four valve?

I have a 5000 s, which has been pretty cool. I would LOVE to get a 400s.

I'd like to get a ride in the DD to see what it's like, both in sound and power, you rarely run into those, and of course on the west coast of Florida you rarely rarely run into any Lamborghini to begin with so even less chance for me. :(

pdisme, if your ever in the north west i would be happy to take you out in my DD. I have had both or all three types of QV Countach's with the ANNIVERSARY included, my opinion, the DD is HANDS DOWN the BADDEST Countach. I have had 400s's as i posted before and they were nice but the DD just is BAD ASS!!!!

I was just curious between these 2 style cars being both highly desired and low in production which had a larger following.

Where in the NW are you located? I used to live in Portland and there were very few [active] Countach's around.

Up in Michigan, not sure why it is called the North West?

Oh sorry, I was thinking the Pacific Northwest.

Nice Countach btw, white fits it so well.

I see some claim that the 400S is so much lighter, by a large margin. I can imagine some reasons (like the US bumpers, suite case exhaust, cat convertors, did they have smog pumps?) but what else? The lower roof line wouldn't change things that much.

Not sure how true that is, could be. The 2 low body 400s cars i had seem to have all the same frame tubing in all the exposed area's (trunk, engine compartment) both have pretty much the same weight as far as leather and carpet in the interior. The later cars might have more padding inside the door panels and through out the interior, for noise reduction?? that could be where some of the weight is gained. Both my DD had no cats, they both had Euro front and rear bumpers. No smog pumps on my DD, I do not remember on the 400s's. What i can tell you for a FACT is the DD would WOOP THE 400S'S ASS. There is no comparison in excelleration and speed. Now this is just my opinion!!! The DD is just a way funner car to drive. There is even a pretty big difference between a 4 valve carb car to a 4 valve fuel injected.

I think all the Countach's are AWESOME and loved everyone i had. Just love the one i have now a little more.

Time to get them on a dyno. :) You anywhere near Roy? I think he has some dyno hookups.

This probably has been asked before, so i will appologize for asking again. I know on the Lambo registry it states there were 610 QV Countach's made from late 85 to 88. Does anyone know how many were carburated? and how many were injected?
