I can't believe the body melted away like that; must have a pretty low melting point?

Thought the RS8 was the super euro version of the S8

That's what I was wondering, aluminum doesn't melt until 1200 degrees F and it has one of the lower melting points of metals, so even if the body were all aluminum, the fuel tank would have had to rupture and engulf the car to melt it away like that since a direct gasoline flame would be required to melt it.

That's a good point on the name of the RS8... but considering that this is just a prototype and the RS8 (A8) hasn't been produced yet, I wouldnt doubt that it uses that name. But, if Audi does go with that name, then that kills any hope of their being an RS8 (A8).

As to why it burned to the ground... it's made out of CF and Aluminum... CF burns and burns HOT. I wouldnt doubt it helped burned any aluminum on the body.
