it will be nice to get things back to normal.

Whats normal?

Normal meaning some people who never re-registered on LPower after the crash will hopefully be accessible and posting again as there are some whom I lost contact info for.

Who didn't reregister at l-power? I've been on that site for almost 2 1/2 years and see most of the same people from before posting. Do you think that site is dead?

Not at all, I was even still posting there this morning in a variety of threads and then this afternoon I found I had been banned. I created this forum to provide some things that I feel LP is lacking in, notably more advanced features and data protection, but I have an extensive explanation of the motivation here:

http://www.talklambo.com/showthread.php?t=24

I thought both sites could co-exist but now I'm no longer allowed to even browse it so evidently my opinion is not shared with the powers that be.

Your thesis is flawed. I am friends with one of the sponsors on l-power who I am currently buying a car from and I was told that you had approached them offering them free sponsorship for 3 months to come over here. That doesn't jive with what you wrote here:

This site was not born out of a desire to compete with Lambo Power

If that were true why are you trying to recruit their sponsors? Believe me, I don't think you're going to compete with l-power, I just think your venture was ill conceived. I hope your site doesn't go the way of this one. (www.lamboforums.com)

You're making the incorrect assumption that a sponsor cannot participate in multiple forums and that my motivation in offering them something for free is to take away from LP. You're also reproducing what I said in a way that implies I said 'move' your sponsorship over to here which is not the case.

The post I directed you to on why I started this board was one of the first ones I made and in it I stated "Lambo Power advertisers can have three months of free ads if you contact me. It's undecided, or rather not even thought about yet, what rates will be after that but my initial idea is that I will keep rates very low to cover site expenses while screening advertisers so only ones that forum members would find of interest are accepted"

I did not hide this fact although your method of presenting it in this thread makes it sound like I did; it was one of the very first things I posted and it's still there unedited. Would I like to have some sponsors? Sure, sponsors lend credibility to a forum and a new forum needs that to make people feel comfortable. Have I or will I ever tell a sponsor they cannot sponsor or participate elsewhere? Never. Will whatever I ultimately charge for sponsorship be trivial to a point that one sale pays for numerous months of sponsorship, most likely. My time is free, the hosting is covered, but the investment in the software and annual maintenance contracts for the software is not. Would I ultimately like the board to function with the only cost being my time and the write off of the hosting expense? Yes, but I'm certainly not looking for this to be some business venture.

At this point in time, I have approached two companies that sponsor on LP with my offer and have been approached by one. I don't hide anything from anyone, I told two of these entities that I'd love to have them here but that we were already seeing some obviously upset LP members taking the existence of this forum as an affront and that maybe they should wait and let things settle down. Your posts lend credence to that theory since you are obviously someone involved in LP using a different name here and you have a different opinion than me on this forum and how things are being handled. What I don't understand is why, thus far, those who have an issue with the forum come over using some other name and can't just say what's on their mind and have a reasonable dialog. I really am a well-meaning person, I'm not trying to cause any conflict but I'd rather we just air out the differences.

Wrong about me being someone affiliated with l-power, I've been a member over there for almost 2 1/2 years and have posted maybe 4 times. I didn't care for the way the newer members were behaving over the last year so I became active in the "other" forum, now that one is gone as well.

I wish you and your site no ill will and hope your site succeeds.

Unfortunately I never knew about that one before it disappeared so I never got to see how it was. I found FChat before I bought my car and talked to some people there about purchasing an exotic and what to look out for since I had never bought anything remotely close, started looking for a little more indepth Lambo info and found LTalk but that seemed a little too tech and not enough relax and have fun, then I found LPower and loved it for the most part, the atmosphere and other members that liked to joke a lot, etc. while still talking about Lamborghinis. I was not a fan of how things were handled after the crash though, there were features I wanted but it didn't have and many of the threads over the past few months would degrade into just who can construct the best insult.

I've still got a lot of add-ons and other features planned for this site that I'm working on and I'm no different here than I was on LP, I'll talk shit with friends and post up the best ass of 2007 shots with the best of them, but I'm hoping we can keep things a little more civil at the same time and much more stable on the user data side of things since it really annoyed me to lose so many of my posts, but particularly the ones from right after I got my first Lamborghini.

I'm certainly open to any criticism you may have or features/changes you'd like to see, I want to make this the Burger King Lambo site where you can have it your way. If you'd like to stay around and post and help this forum develop, that's what we need.

You have my full support and I will personally be contacting sponsors to get on board....They know me quite well and my reputation with them is impecable. Besides....it's not like Allan owns Lambo Power and can make all the calls...don't let that assumption get you...he doesn't.

It's inevitable that some people won't like this board existing, not much we can do about it, except try even harder to make it good since that's exactly what those types don't want. :lol2: I don't think Allan banned me though, I don't know him personally but he's been cordial with me when I've private messaged him a few times for various things as have a few of the other moderators.

I can take some guesses at it but nothing to be gained I guess, there's a lot of good people on LP that I'd still like to communicate with so now that I'm banned, maybe they'll wonder why I'm no longer posting and come find me here. :)

I just never close my browser so I'm always on. That, and I really don't have much to contribue since, you know, I don't own a Lamborghini.

Well since I have been lurker for quite some time and this thread has been resurected from the dead I am pleased to introduce myself. I am Anthony Lahner and have been a Lambo enthusiast since my time began.

I worked for several auto service dpeartments in the past; most recently O'Gara Coach Co. (Aston Martin/Lamborghini service advisor). I left my post this past March and have started a new venture in the cosmetic wheel refinishing industry; serving primarily the Los Angeles area and other areas of the state as well.

I am pleased to be a part of this forum and will gladly offer and knowledge, technical etc..., when and where I can.

Thank you,
Anthony

Hello from Hong Kong! Do I count as a lurker? I just joined today... I'll try not to lurk as much but I don't post much on the other two sites I frequent everyday (6speedonline & lambopower). I recognize alot of you from the other two forums.
