Anyone who's been to a wine tasting, can you tell me what you do between glasses to avoid one affecting the next? I assume there's something you drink or eat kind of like how you sniff coffee beans or whatever between cologne at a store.

I will usually eat a cracker and have a sip of water in between

I was serious
see point 7 (http://www.wines.com/winetasting.htm)
Swallow a small amount if you wish to note any lingering "finish". But if you are tasting a number of wines -- in a winery tasting room, for example -- your host will usually provide a vessel for you to spit out the wine instead of swallowing. (It is not rude.)

That's a good idea. I'm not much of a wine drinker but I do like champagne and I'm having a tasting at my house for some friends who are getting married; I'm providing the champagne for the wedding as their gift so they have to come pick the one they like. I'm having a bunch of other people over to help consume all the spare champagne. :beerchug:
