There is a company I work with professionally, that I like. They are a small public company that owns 10-20 internet brands. Their market cap is about 37Mil. And you know how when buyers buy stocks, the price goes up and when sellers sell it goes down - so let's say I bought 100,000 shares (they're under a dollar/share right now) at xyz price, would that purchase alone make the share price increase any? Just curious, thanks :)

If there's one thing I've learned, it's never invest in companies you like or who make the best product, they always go down. :lol2: On two occassions I've purchased stock in companies whose products I knew were best in class from my own use of their own and their competitors' products, they both took a dive. :owned:

Depends. Take a look at how many shares of that stock trade daily. If your 100,000 is a significant (3% or more) then yes, you probably affected the price of the stock and you'll affect it again when you sell.
Of course, you can look at it this way, too. You bought all the shares that were being offered at $.75 and that was only 50,000. If you want 50,000 more shares, you need to wait till someone wants to offer $.75 or start buying at $.76 or higher.

That's kinda what I was asking!
Vol: 2,900.00
Avg Vol: 309,000.00
Does that mean only 2,900 shares got traded today, and 309,000 a day on average?

Dunno if I'm too late, but I'll offer my input.
There are some trading domes that tell you how many shares are bidding or asking at a certain price. It's also a good idea to review the charts for that particular stock to see what the average volume is.
If you're looking to take a big position, make sure the stock is liquid. It'll help you to get in or out of a position easier.
