View Full Version : 2001 Diavlo 6.0 Windshield

I just smashed my windshield on my Diablo 6.0. The car on on a lift, higher than it should be and my Countach was being worked on below. Due to the swing up doors, I raised the Diablo as high as it could go. Forgot to lower the car and opened the garage door and ended up smashing the windshield. Could have been worse. Does anyone have a lead on a windshield for the 6.0? Used is fine. I would like it as soon as possible.

Okay. I will email it to you and you can post it. Hope people do not think I am a dumb shit but it could serve as a warning for members with lifts.

:stupid: :stupid::stupid: :stupid: :stupid: Yes, I definitely agree and I would not need a reminder. Everytime I go to the garage, I get reminded.

Yea, totally could of been wores. But I shead a tear for the car. Gus, you might want to put a mark on the lift so you know how high you can raise it.

I feel grateful that it was just the windshield. It could have gotten to the roof.

I hate to admit it but this time I have to agree with dumbshit Gene. I cannot justify spending $2,500.00 for a windshield. I just bought a windshield for my GMC pickup truck and only cost me $300.00 and I had a fit because I thought it was too much money. If I cant get it for $800.00 or less I will not be replacing my windshield. I just cannot justify that.

Roy, I do know you are not the smartest guy in the world and I do not blame you for that because that is the way you were born, but did you mean $250.00? TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS?

Since you have a house in Florida, have the windshield replaced here; state law requires insurance companies to replace cracked windshield's for free.

GLC65,
Let me know if you want to see a photo of how I have my garage door tracks set up so this won't happen. They go about 6 inches from the sealing before turning. Not only is the door closer to the calling, it travels in along the ceiling towards the car less.

Gus,
Another idea might be to get an electrician to put in some contacts switches and relays to prevent the garage door from being opened when the lift is all the way up, like an override to the door opener. Much cheaper than a Diablo windsheild or worse.
I know it is after the incident but it is a thought.

I have an even cheaper solution:

Almost shattered another windshield ; Barchetta. I would appreciate how you remedied your tracks. I already went through two windshields this year and I met my quota for the year.
