Yep, I made my decision, I'm heading to shephard's with some friends shortly. You want to go? I was gonna take the lambo and pick someone else up but I could roll the g-wagen instead.

I cannot express my disappointment in the fact that I live in Orlando.

Yeah I know. Trust me, I know. Anyone doing anything fun next weekend? Or the one after that? Or hell during the week.....I'm open.

Weekend after next a bunch of us will be at Sebring driving four wheeled contraptions at high rates of speed. :) You could come down, maybe get a ride, I think it's $20 to get in as a guest with Chin Motorsports. You couldn't ride with me since I'm a novice but people generally like to give other people rides around the track if they're solo qualified.
what time are you going to sheps?

Sounds interesting. Sebring isn't that far from Orlando, about 60 miles.....seems like it'd be a good time. DO you have any more information about times and events, etc?

You got it; we'll roll out in the G next time, it's fun driving up to a beach bar in a drop top Lambo. :)

Yep, schedule should be under the event info:

So what you're telling me is I can just show up, sign a waiver, pay $20 and hang out? Sweet.

I'll check on it, my understanding is the $20 guest pass let's you ride in solo cars and instructor cars but I want to make sure it doesn't bind you to just one regular attendee.

Well the way I understand it at the site:
Passengers: Passengers can participate in our events by registering at the track and purchasing a passenger wristband for $20. Passengers must be at least 18 years old (16 years old with parents present). Passengers are permitted to ride only with solo-qualified drivers.
It really just seems like it's a pass to get into the area, and then you have to become friends with the drivers to get a ride. It doesn't sound like they set up anything at all. And by "registering at the track" I hope they don't mean they have another registration fee like for drivers (which is like $200!!!). Are there usually a lot of "passengers" at events like this? I've never been to a track day.

Yeah, my understanding is similar to yours, you get in and you're a passenger. There's always tons of people wondering around so I'm going to check tomorrow but I think you'd be good to go.

once he pays $20.00 he get's a band that he can ride in any car all day as long as the driver is solo qualified and driver is OK.
In Homestead, I brought a friend with me, I let him ride for about 50 laps thru out the weekend.
He said riding in a Radical was the best thing he has ever done with his clothes on!!!

Sounds like a plan, rolling anywhere in the G is fun. :lol2:

Sounds good to me. DO I just sign a waiver, or is there more to registration? Can I do it in advance or only at the gate? Do I need my own gear? Are riders required to wear a helment? Do I need to buy a Nomex suit or will my "I am the Stig's fat cousin" shirt work? :D
I want to be well informed, sorry for so many questions. :)

Looks like you just show up and register as a passenger. Sebring will make you sign a waiver before you can get in the gate and then Chin will make you sign a second waiver before you get a wrist band. You will need a helmet; I have a spare large helmet if you need it, it may fit, my head is pretty f'n huge. No other gear is required but sunscreen is recommended.

The bastard valet at Shephard's knew he had me; I pull in and ask if I can park myself, he says no of course, so then I ask him if I can park it myself for $10 and he's like for $20 you can. :icon_anal: :lol2:

And here's what happens when you drink too much on the beach; you look stupid, your boyfriend looks stupid, five cops stand around for no particular reason, everyone takes pictures and makes fun of you and then you leave on a stretcher and get a big bill for EMS services: :lol2: :lol2: :icon_oak:

The grand prix was a fun event. I live right here at the USF St. Pete dorms so I could see the race w/o leaving. It's kind of like box seating at a traditional sports event. I did go in Friday; what a pleasent odor the indy cars emit. I also liked how the Audi's didn't backfire on decelleration. Good times.

I've been trying to find video of one of the Audi diesel's so I can hear what they sound like.
