I'm sorry, but I'm ignorant. Why the deal with the red key fob?
Good luck with the sale.

I got screwed by the owner who said the red key fob and books and tools were with the car. They were not. However the price is reflected that they are not included.

In the bigger pic, the absence of books and tools aren't the end of the world. The missing red key fob isn't the end of the world neither unless one misplaces the only key left and you live thousand of miles away from the nearest Ferrari Authorized service center.....
My first 360 came w/ only one key (the silver one w/ the black key fob). I misplaced it.....and it was the BIGGEST PAIN IN THE ASS ever!!!!!! Car had to be towed and shipped 800 miles to Ferrari Authorized Service, the only one supposedly can reprogram the new key (so I was told).
At first, I was told it cost b/w 3k to 4k to get a brand new set (total of 3keys/3fobs---the red one is the master to program). In actuality, it wasn't that bad. It cost only around $1400 (bought it from Ferrari of Beverly Hills) plus labor (if I recall, they had to remove the dashboard). This was approx. 4 yrs ago so it might have changed.....

Your brother has his priority straight. Besides, he knows a wrong decision would have cost him a lot more than a new car!!

Yes, it is their Law, something to do with the Orginal factory supplied replacement key. My understanding is it contains certain info in the key chip that IDs the exact car...wierd...but required.

It's a beautiful car, Mike. It's evident you didn't spare any expense and have done everything right to keep it mint. The fact that your car has complete service (new belts and clutch) by authorized dealer plus value aftermkt wheels are a lot more meaningful than the lack of keys and book.
I'd let the potential buyer decide if he wants the new keys or not. Most people would prefer to save the $3k to $4k and manage it w/ one key (hold it to dear life, of course).

Tom,
I agree with you 100%. I will go to the dealer and check to see how much for the new red key fob. The dealer who sold me the car really screwed me and I should have sued them for misrepresenting the car. They even showed pictures of all the books, tools, keys on their web site and verbally confirmed the car came with them yet they never showed up? The energy, time, money etc would have just not been worth it IMO.
The car now is all ready to go minus the red key, books and toolsl. Just spent alot of $$$ to make sure of it.
