IPO was priced in today at around 6pm ET at $44.
going public tomorow morning as ticker symbol V on thE NYSE.

it's too late to get in on the VISA IPO, however you can get in at the market when it starts trading.

You would need a broker/broker dealer that bought a piece of the IPO from the underwriters.

Visa doesn't deal with the credit nor are they a credit extender so i believe that Visa will do pretty well in a economy where people are living off credit cards.
oh yaeh Visa and Master card aren't affected if the debtor makes late payments or defaults on their cards since VISA + MA gets paid per transaction by the merchants.

does visa make it's money from other banks who pay them licensing fees and those banks get the transaction fees or does visa get those too?

Visa should do well since they make money off of screwing consumers and merchants at the same time; any company who can screw both sides of the marketplace while telling each side to smile and like it will probably do pretty well in the stock market. :) Wonder what the point of even making an offering is, it's not like they need to raise cash, they already own the market.

i believe Visa gets the licensing fees from corporations they do business with and they get a cut of each transaction put through.

haha pimpdaddy is right, but sometimes you gotta be in it to win it, nahh means?!
oh yeah, my opinion why they went public is to take advantage of the status of the economy + raise capital for major litigations + be damn near a monopoly. right now i believe they have a ~60% market share.

They not only get a cut of every transaction they process, they also get another cut of credits that are issued after the daily batching when voids are no longer possible and they get another cut of the fees when a chargeback occurs. This whole system is why we still have credit card fraud; the companies are making money off of the fraud, otherwise they'd have eliminated it a long time ago through simple measures they could have implemented. :)

I requested 10,000 preIPO shares and received 100. Instead of $120K in gains, I have $1,200.
