LP640 will still be better looking standing still than the Corvette will look at 200mph!

Won't keep you from getting pissed off when it pulls away from you at a stop light. :)

Nah - I don't buy cars for that reason. Some do, but certainly not me! The passion that 1 staff member at Sant'Agata puts into a Lamborghini is more than the entire production line at Chevrolet. The design and colours are what keep me pulled!
Beside the point we will never see the Corvette in my country, so I won't have to worry about that problem anyway :lol2:

Tina and I have a running joke, whenever we see a Vette we say "Hey look! A Corvette!". Since, they are so rare and all.

Amen brother! Here in SoCal, Corvettes and Vipers are everywhere. Everytime I take out the L car, it is always the Corvettes and Vipers that follow me and try to coax me into a race. The high revs, hand gestures, horn honking, etc. There also have been times on PCH where I see these cars coming towards me in the opposite direction only to make illegal U-Turns in busy traffic just to follow me.

It will be interesting to see the performance figures of the 600HP Corvette.

Possibly, but at 200 mph you would barely see the Corvette and I think that's when they look best. :)

You telling me my Chevy Avalanche was not made with passion? :lol2:

Yeah, I think that's just about everywhere, I'll race regular corvette's in my g-wagen just to embarrass them, z06 obviously not but regular ones are fun.

I'd pay money to see that!

I hope I don't get that too much here! Would make me rather nervous

Okay, maybe I'll bring the g-wagen back to the next cars & coffee, see if we can get one of the corvette drivers there to give me a run. :)

I'm sure we could talk one of them into it. Vette pride seems to be easily disturbed :lol2:

I personally don't understand the hate. I think its cool that Chevorlet produces a supercar with 505 horsepower that will keep up with an Enzo in the quater mile and beat it around the Nurbruring for 70K. Even with its old school motor (which it gets blasted for) you can get 26 or so MPG, while an Enzo might manage 12. If the Corvette was manufactored in a small shop in Italy with a horse on the front, its short commings would become its quirks and they would be loved by everyone.

I don't. I respect Chevrolet with so much. And not to mention, didn't they distribute Lamborghini's in the US when they first became legal?
ZO6 are a great bang for the buck performance wise. But I just can't get past the poor quality at those higher prices. When you're up past the $70K range, I expect some quality. It's just not there. So what are you paying for? Horsepower? You can buy that for pennies. If I wanted plastic car with 600 HP so I can whip anyone in a straight line, I could just get a Camero SS and drop a big blown rat motor in it.
But 600 HP, $100K price tag, and an interior transplanted from a Camero? Not for me..

I think the Z06 makes a better track car than street car, because then you can rip it apart and put a cage in anyway and not care about the interior. :) But yeah, in that price range I'd probably go with a Porsche even if the performance isn't up to Z06 spec, the car will be much more fun.

Yeah, the Z06 really is a crappy street car. Just too uncomfortable. But hard to beat the bang for the buck.
That being said, never bought one. Always chose the Porsche when it came time to pony up the bucks. Never regretted the decision.
