View Full Version : Homebrew Beer
Anyone done this? I'm interested in getting into it and was wondering if anyone here has done it, currently does it, would be interested.
My grandfather used to do it back in the day, but i've never done it myself. I just registered on a homebrew forum.

I kicked the idea around one time but then decided it would be a waste of my time. :) There's plenty of places around Tampa that carry beers that taste exactly as I'd want them to be made if I made them so I'd have to spend weeks of time tweaking the ingredients just to mimic something I really liked before I could start deviating from it to try to improve, and that's a lot of time for beer. :lol2:
:lol2: :fgay: theres no such thing as "too much time for good beer"! I'd expect such a comment from a woman, but from a beer drinkin' man!?
although, tampa is home to a lot of specialty breweries. Just be cool to say "yeah, i brewed this".

I've got a friend that brews beer, I'll get the name of this place she gets all the stuff from for you, still think you're wasting your time on it, you're gonna end up with a barrel of piss that you won't want to pour out because you brewed it yourself. :lol2: :lol2:
:eusa_naughty: just you wait, i'll show you!

I'd like to figure out how to make my own rum.
Then I will never have to ask myself, "Why is the rum gone?"
I brewed my own beer one time. I quicky found I don't have the patience for it. It was interesting to learn about how it's made. But it did not taste that great and I'll never do it again. You can buy a kit at a homebrew store to make 5 gallons of you own tastey cold brew. Don't get those crappy "novelty" type kits you see. Get a real kit from a real homebrew store.
Do it all the time. Actually have a batch bottled and aging right now.

Do you get a decent outcome?
Sure do. I serve my brew at bbq's and parties along with various other beers and mine is always the first to go. I have to hide a case or 2 just to make sure I get some :beerchug:
The most important thing is cleanliness. Sanitize and sterilize everything. For your first time I recommend getting a malt kit and do a single stage fermentation then bottling.
