OK, so I'm supposed to keep the car on the track in Vegas???

Kind of unsettling watching all the Nascar guys slipping and sliding on the new surface at Las Vegas International Speedway. Yes, I know, the new Goodyear rubber was way too hard and sucked badly, but I do presume that these guys know how to drive.

Having them describe the track as an Ice Skating Rink wasn't a confidence builder.

Now, I presume that most of the layout I will be driving on isn't on the oval, but the road track attached to that. But I was looking forward to some high speed runs on the oval.

Could be interesting. At least it's someone else's car (but my body.)

Racing school in a few weeks. Thought I'd get a refresher, since I haven't raced in open wheel cars in about 20 years. Just Formula 2000s, but should still be fun.

jrfootin might have some perspective on oval tracks because I think the homstead track day layout involves portions of its oval.
