I'll have to check it out when I get home, from cell modem it just shows the splash screen Ferrari Challenge 2007 at Homestead but doesn't do anything; kind of like typical Ferrari's. hehe

Greg, that video was kind of boring, even you have to admit it. :) I can only take listening to cars rev for about 30 seconds. :lol2:

You're kidding right? I don't see how that can be remotely boring. Did you watch the vid long enough to see the on track scenes? Qualty is poor but it isn't every day you get to see private owners of modern day F1 cars drive at speed in FL.
Never said Audi can't build a track car, but unless I am uninformed you can't purchase one. However, an FXX can be had.

I thought the passing sequence was pretty cool when the blur of F1 went zooming by the other car like it was stopped but rest was ho hum. :) Not that the FXX isn't a bad ass car, there's just much more exciting videos out there, like this one (damn, that F1 transmission is smooth as silk):

(Driver is a loser. Who takes their hand off the wheel of a million dollar car to get a cell phone while on the track?)

Yeah, he's as bad a driver as me but he must actually have experience to have been offered an FXX slot. :)

Nope, just the cash to pay for it.

Oh, I always thought the FXX was invitation-only to Ferrari owners that were also somehow involved in racing for a while.

It is buy invitation only but you don't have to have race experience. You have to be a muiltiple and I mean muiltiple owner and with some luck you will get the call.

Origionally no, I didnt watch the whole thing as the engine revs only do so much. I believe engines sound better under a load than at idle. Going back, it still wasnt much. Yes it was a bit amuzing with the FXX's sound as the formula's is to high for my taste; but the constant rigth to left pan left me asking why no cockpit camera views.
No, you didnt say anything like that about V/A-G, but you did say:
"Might be time to trade in the Lambos"
I dont know about anybody else, but to me, suggesting the trade in of a Lamborghini for a Ferrari on a Lamborghini board almost askes for scrutiny and ridicule from forum leaders.
I'd love to have an FXX, but i dont think I'd trade a 640 for it unless i was lokking to make some money with it somewhere else.

Greg loves Ferrari's, we have to work on him. :) I love Lamborghini's, but.... I think I'd take an FXX over an LP640, I just don't want to buy five or six regular Ferrari's so that I can get the invite. :lol2: Not that the LP640 is any slouch but the FXX is a very serious race car and must be incredible to drive. Of course I'd still take my Gallardo over any of them because I wanted a Lamborghini convertible more than anything and that's my only option. An LP640 convertible though.... oh yeah baby, that's what daddy needs. :3some:

So you wouldn't want Ferrari's most advanced racing car (besides F1) that pushes over 800HP and weighs very, very little? The exhaust comes out of the tail lights! It doesn't get more badass than that.
I mean sure if you want to drive on the road you would be better off with the LP640, but in any other situation I'd take the FXX in a heartbeat. Being one of 29 is very special. Bring an FXX to any event and you won't be short of friends for the day. :D

yes the fxx is cool, but imo the 640 looks more bad ass. I know the hp/lbs ratios are way different, but I still like the lambo more. If i went to a car event, even the 640 would bring in the onlookers even if there were enzos and mclarens because it looks just as much like a space ship. and that is one of the main characteristics i have seen that accompanies Ferrari owner menality, the "look at me" behavior. What ive gathered from lambo owners is the car is candy for our eyes and not really anybody else's. they can look, but thats not on the agenda.

I don't have the time or desire to argue this right now but you have missed the entire point of my thread. I am a racer at heart that was brought up on F1. F1 has and always will revolve around Ferrari as it is their meal ticket. I been to several F1 races, sat in two F1 cars, met Michael Schumacher and just about every other driver on the grid over the course of having full pit access for 3 USGPs. It is not only rare but very special to see a F1 car at full song considering they only race 1x per year in the US. Now, with the Corsa Clienti program you can buy retired F1 cars with full factory support. Now, I am not sure what your idea of cool is but in my book that is at the top of the list. Having said that I wouldn't give a shit if is was a Super Aguri car, if I could afford it I would buy one. The comment about selling your Lambo's had NOTHING to do regarding Ferrari vs. Lambo and you shouldn't take offense to it considering you own neither.

Please, Ferrari and Lambo owner's are no different. Some people buy exotics to be seen and others (like myself) buy them to drive.
By the way, the FXX is not a pretty car - form over function, that's why it doesn't have a rear wing, the undertray does all the work.

I bought my Lamborghini to drive AND be seen, I bought the Radical to drive. I'd wager that 99.5% of exotic owners buy them to be seen or sit them in the garage to brag about.
I'm spending too much money on cars this past year, hopefully I'm done for a little while and can just start maintaining and enjoying them. :)
