Those pics were from the first session when we were just driving the line. We had on helmets after lunch, then it was a lot more fun!

Complete opposite up here. I've seen at least one Ferrari on the track every time I've been to road Atlanta. Never even once saw a Lambo even in the parking area (have seen CGT's a few times and an XJ220 once though). There were rumours of one of the CGT's making some laps but playing it so conservative that we was giving point by's to Vettes. Not that I blame him not risking totalling it into the wall for the sake of trying to show off above his ability. Same with our monthly exotic meet. Guaranteed at least 6 Ferrari's there every time, even in the rain there has been 4 or 5 show up. One guy would bring one or two of his lambos once a blue moon if there was no threat of rain for the next 7 straight days but those are the only ones I've ever seen. (and he recently got rid of both of them, but he changes cars every couple months. the Murci vert and Diablo were replaced with a GT3, guess he still has the F-430 and Spyker) Same with our annual charity event for kids with cancer. The invites go out, but in the past 2 years not one Lambo. 14 Ferrari's last year though, and over 20 this year. I've never understood the "Ferrari guys don't drive their cars and Lambo drivers to" sentiment on this board.

Simple statistics; look at Lamborghini production numbers vs Ferrari's, then it makes sense. In Tampa Bay, there are probably less than 20 Lamborghini's (only 14 that I know of) while I bet there are hundreds of Ferraris, but I rarely see either.

I see Ferarri's all the time around me, and I'm willing to bet that's just because there are hardly any lambos around and tons of Ferraris. Two of my neighbors have a Ferrari and Erik on here has one too and is a few minutes away from me, yet I never see those guys ever drive theirs.

I think the car is a blast on the track, lots of weight out back but is controllable.

John,
Have you ever driven your SV on a track?
If so, can you offer your comments on how the driving experience compares to the SE30?
Thanks,
Chris

I have driven a 98 SV on the track before, but, not my Monterey Ed.
The SV I had on the track was in Europe and had a lot lighter feel than my 98 USA spec car.
The 98 SV is definitely a heavier car than my SE30.
I have had the ABS be a problem on the track it made me really skittish about pushing the car any futher (since I nearly lost it going into a high speed turn and if anyone was next to me when it happened I would have broadsided them) - the ABS had greatly reduced how effectively the rear brake calipers engaged.
The 98 SV does have wider front tires and bigger brakes (would be nice to be able to disable the ABS).
The SE30, it just wants to GO, its motor winds up faster than the SV or at least seems to. The SE30 also has lower unsprung weight (magnesium rims, smaller brakes).
That being said, the 98 SV is a bit heavy in general for tracking. Would rather have an SVR.

I had similar issues with the G, and it was the first car I tracked; the ABS came on a number of times. I kind of backed off a bit after that since I heard horror stories of people coming to the track and leaving with broken ABS pumps since they just aren't designed to actually be activated frequently. :)

On cars with poor ABS, just pull the fuse for the track.
On cars with GREAT ABS, leave it in, as it's better than you can do with your feet.
