well as the title says.. im most probably going to buy one today:biggerGrin:

its very hard to find a manual gear murci.. ive been looking for ages, and maby you come across 1 or 2 a year.....

im going to chek out a 2002 murci coup. i am told it has been well kept.. but i can get my guy to PPI it before final sale...

i have decided as my main thing is i want a manual gear.. so i cant be too fussy about the color inside or out... so i have decided i awant to spray it white/ white leather and red cantara or suaid seats...

i am including a pic :headbang: :grinning-smiley-003

my main questions are... what do i look out for in the 2002 model???
i have heard ether 2002 or 2003 had some issues??
so owners please help me out:beerchug:

im talking about issues with the gear or recal stuff.. i need this info so i can go over it with previus owner..

thanx for your feed back in advance guys:jumping38:

I don't think there's any e-gear for 02 and 03. e-gear started on 04.

so if you want a murci with manual transmission, you'll be safe with any 02.

I'm looking for a murci too, would be great to know about the issues on 02-03.

Awesome, I hope you get it. Most people are sleeping now, but I'm sure when the morning comes some of the murci owners will help out with their experiences with those model years.:)

I have an 03 and haven't had any issues at all...13,500 miles so far and running like a champ (knock on wood)...I know Roy had over 25k miles on his 03 problem free...I'd go with an 03 over an 02 simply because I stay away from every first model year car for a variety of reasons. But, if you're going to paint the car white, and it will impact the resale value overall, an 02 will be the most cost effective way to do this.

Good luck and let me know if I can do anything to help out!

PS- that photo is from the Running of the Bulls 3 years ago...it was taken right after one of the Murcie's on the run flipped and caught on fire. My Diablo is in the very back of that photos and don't think can be seen....I actually have a very similiar photo since my co-pilot took several of them. The murcie in the pic (white) was custom ordered in that color combo...super nice guy that owns it.

UPDATE.....

went to see the car today, its a 2002, silver with a tint of very light blue eterior, and red interior. the car has 13000 km's, and one owner car. 3000 km's on the new clutch.

there are some small chips in the clear coat. but thats understandable in the front end of a lambo. one of the side skirts was recently replaced becouse it was damaged... other than that car is perfect..
im having my tech chek it out in the next few days.. but the deal is prety much done...

what color is this car?? sort of looks like the murci that al bertoni had with the god father logo.. remember that one?

I have an 02 pearl orange coupe and love it . Thats my baby . I bought it with about 4k miles on it as a 1 owner car b4 me . Did the exhaust and thats it . So worth it if you pick up a stock 1 . Especially the pipes , looks & sounds much meaner now , as a Lambo should in my book . I have heard the storys as well with the early year murcis and i am happy to say i have had not 1 problem ( knock on wood ) . I am now at about 10k miles since march 07 and have loved every inch of those miles . Best of luck to you and your hunt for your car . If you have any specific questions please feel free to ask me as i am more than willing to be any assistence i can . And you are right there is nothing like a manual trans.

yess gready.. becouse some one asked about it when i was inspecting the car... so he thought there was demand for him to up the price... thats just stupid... and no way to deal..

the good side of the story the 2003 im cheking out today has full service history, one owner car. and he is selling to upgrade to a LP640..

i am prety confident this is the one... oh and its manual

Matt

maybe the 02 deal falling through was a blessing in disguise? now you get an 03 with full history etc.

sounds like a better deal to me. Good luck! keep us updated.

Murcies 03 are very good and reliable , make sure you check the shocks are ok and not leaking (car has 6 - 2front and 4 back , each is $2500). That is a common and expensive problem also there are some cars that have some problems with the TCS (traction Control) they seem to always turn it on. Make sure the front lift works because its very handy. if the car is close to 10,000 miles a new clutch should be there all ready.

My car is an 2003 (November 2003 build)with 13,000 miles and runs perfect , no issues.

Good luck

the car has 9000 km's on it, it has a new clutch with prakticaly no miles on it. i will chek the lift system. but how do chek the TCS??? what do i look for?

why are clucthes going out in these cars less than 10,000 miles.i have seen some as early as 3000 miles?is it all because of the driver or its just the deisgn of the system going through them fast.

guess who is the proud owner of a 2003 black exterior, red lp640 stich interior.
with 9000 kilometers...

yess i did say it the car had the LP640 interior stich...
the owner ordered it that way becouse he wanted it to look like the bently arnage.. who would have thunk it:biggerGrin:

the car has a few unique things on it.. it had these little vents in the side of the front bumper.. i like it, its not too much...

it also has a ( and get this) SV engine cover. non working ofcourse..
its wierd im not sure about it. but we will see the work is tip top...

so were do i post pics of it?????????????:beerchug: sneak peak till i get the chance to properly take pics my self

Very Nice Car!!!!!!
TCS will be ok if it turn off eventualy , TCS fault is when everytime you give some gas you see the light coming on and flashing. It is very anoying.

If the engine revs idle a lot its beacuse they need to clean the throtle bodies , it is a 1 hour labour at the most.

Congrats again with the Murcie

thanx dave, i never knew there was a photo gallery section.
and thanx microboby for the good advice, i was also informed by the previus owner about the throtle bodies...

i still havent realy taken her out for a drive.. but i took her off the trailer my self...
first thing i noticed diffrence between murci and diablo is that the gass pedal is soo much lighter in the murci..

also while backing up, my diablo i never used the gass pedal to back up, it was mainly chlutch and brake.. the murci inst like that... am i right?

I see this owner has done a lot of custom work to this car. The badges look stuck on and you should have them removed! :D

Are the scoops at the top functional or purely just for aesthetics? You should get a group shot of your lambos!

Congrats!

Definitely a MUCH better setting. I spy a Maybach in that background ;)

congrats.....i have a suggestion. do you still have the original engine cover? if you don't, it would be helpful to get it so you can switch back and forth for various looks depending on your mood. besides, if you choose to sell it someday, the next owner might want it. again, beautiful car....i like it alot.

thanx guys.. yess thats the maybach, i still dont know how all the gadjets work on that car.. but it drives incredibly well for such a big car.. its parked that way ( taking up 2 spaces) becouse even the short mayback is too big for all size parking...

tom .. i was thinking the same thing.. but im afraid that this hood with the scoops is the original. he had it moded.. but i remember an after market transperent hood like the lp 640's one. not sure wich tiuner but there is one...
