View Full Version : duPont Cars & Coffee - St. Pete Florida - March 17, 2007

On the third Saturday of every month, duPont has a "Cars & Coffee" event in the Storman's Nite Club parking lot in St. Pete from 7 AM :duh: to 9 AM where a bunch of exotic car owners show up and hang out for a couple hours. Why it's that early, no idea, no one wants it that early but that's when they have it. Me personally, I tend to get there with the spyder around 8:30 since waking up that early on a weekend sucks, but if you want to see all the cars, you should get there by 7:45 because there are a few people who will start leaving around 8 AM with their cars and we have had some cars very worthy of checking out show up before.

March '07 should be a big turn out for Lamborghini's as there are at least four local owners that are going to be there and we've heard there may be a few other locals that have been located who will be showing up. There also may be attendees driving up or over from Sarasota and Orlando respectively. This may be enough to finally outnumber the normal contingent of five or six Ferrari's.

If you need any additional info, just PM me or see the Cars & Coffee myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/carsandcoffee

Location is easy, Storman's Nite Club parking lot:

2675 Ulmerton Rd
Clearwater, Fl 33762

Here's some pics from past events:

There's an informal Tuesday night thing at Sonic on Bearss in the USF area that I'm going to check out this week and see what kind of event it is; sounds mostly import tuner from what I've read but I'm going to check it out and see.

Couple of the other locals on here may want to do something either Saturday, maybe we could arrange a drive somewhere, I've been wanting to do something with the other Lambo owners.

Well, missing it the last two months pissed me off, due to illness and my job (which I no longer have, long story on that one), so I WILL be there!

I missed last month too, too cold to wash the car Friday, too cold to wake up Saturday. I cannot wait for March though, hopefully we can get at least five or six Lambo's there. I think they're all different colors too. :)

Holy shit, no more Murci!! Sorry to hear about it going but hopefully you'll get something you like better in its place. Zdoc probably likes that, he's the only one around here with a Murci now, at least that I've seen. :)

I lost my train of thought there.

You know, we'll have enough people at cars and coffee that we could put some spotters around the entrances to the Raymond James campus to watch for police and then get a little crazy back in there. :) Not that I'd advocate exceeding the legal speed limit, but those curbs back there are banked and there's plenty of run off room, I mean lawn.

Why not go schizophrenic and race yourself? You know, the left side of your brain drives the Radical, and the right side sells the Murci before you turn it in.

Zdoc, I can race myself now. :) I ended up working out a deal on the Stack Data steering wheel with the owner so I've got turn by turn predictive lap timing and as I drive the car, I can make it tell me how far off my best lap I am as I go through turns, so I can tell if I'm entering turn 4 that I'm now, based on my speed through the remaining turns previously, expected to complete the lap 5 seconds slower than my best, etc. :lol2:

That sounds really complicated to be trying to analyze something like that while you're, you know, going through a turn at 130mph. :D

Well you wouldn't want to be dialing it up while you're driving fast but if you set it to that display mode it just puts the big +/- counter in one of the guages on your wheel so you just take a quick glance down. You sit very low in a Radical so the steering wheel display is really visible and easy to focus in on without requiring a lot of time.

I see. I was unaware of the exact setup of the Radical cockpit. Sounds like it'll be a fun toy for your fun toy at the very least.

Sounds like it tells you to hug your ankles if you go too deep into a turn.
Sort of like a friend of mine who hit a drive so badly into the woods, that when he got there, his GPS golf cart said, "Lessons are available in the pro shop."

Actually, I'm going to drive with the Stack system in Vegas, so I'll get some wheel time with it also. It does sound nice.

Zdoc with his Murci, me with the spyder, Vroom emailed me and will be coming up from Sarasota with his G, Lambolarry is normally always there with his Countach but he hasn't posted here yet so I'm not sure and Shuey2k will be there but he usually brings his 360cs since he has not been blessed with a Lamborghini just yet :)
