Been trying to find a place in Tampa that sells race gas but have not been having much luck. jrfootin, what size engine did you get on your car, it was the 1400 or 1500 right? You'll be in the same boat then, the Radical manual (http://www.radicalextremesportscars.com/range/sr3/2006%20Radical%20SR3%20Owners%20Manual.pdf) says:

"Tuned Powertec Suzuki 1300, 1400 & 1500 engines should only be run on Super Unleaded 98 octane, or 100 octane race fuel. Tuned engines in the USA should only be run on racing fuel such as cam2, or a minimum of 108 octane. We do NOT recommend mixing octane boosters with pump fuel."

But this is kind of odd because the first part implies that the Radical should use unleaded gas, but there is no unleaded gas at 108 octane. Closest I know of is Sunoco 260 GT Plus at 104 octane:

http://www.sunocoinc.com/site/Consumer/RaceFuels/UnleadedFuels/

Maybe they're measuring octane differently though.

Anyone know where race gas is actually sold in Tampa?

You can buy 110 leaded (which is fine) at the track for just about the same you would spend at a station.

there's a place off 275 & Sligh that sells race gas, I will try to get name & phone# for everyone on this board. As soon as I get it, I will post here.

Mine's a 1300 CC

Greg, you sure leaded is okay? Of course you're sure, but how come they say unleaded? :)

J, I found that you can buy pretty much anything you need at Sunshine drag strip on days they're open and also that the Sunoco on Dale Mabry somewhere around Waters may have race gas up to 110 as well, not positive on that though.

Yep, you are fine with leaded. Remember the fuel in the UK is not the same fuel we have access to and their presumption is the car is in the UK.

Confirmed tonight that Sunoco on Dale Mabry just north of Bill Currie Ford carries a maximum of 100 octane at $5.99/gallon. Gotta love motorsports.
