The two plastic grommets on the back of the decklid on my roadster were a bit sunbleached. It doesn't spend much time out in the sun so I'm guessing everyone's will have the issue over time. Instead of being black they had a light white bleached out hue to them.
(I'm talking about the grommets that the roof pins stick in)
I'd heard about Mother's "Back to Black"
http://www.autogeek.net/motbactrimca.html
and decided to give it a try.
It worked great but there are some catches.
First, when you put it on, it doesn't look like it does anything. The liquid is not black itself, it is white. So, you put it on and nothing happens.
You have to leave it on for a while (I left it on for 30 minutes) and then wipe it off. Then it is a little bit blacker. At that point, you think it didn't do much.
But if you do it 2 or 3 days in a row, you get a nice black grommet. It doesn't look strange either, just looks normal.
So, it takes a while to get it to work but once it does, it is pretty good.
