Regular people, just ignore this thread. :) I'm going to keep the list of banned spammers' email addresses here so that search engines will pick them up and index them. I've found that when I see a new user sign up that has a name which suggests they may be a spammer, sometimes I can find their email address listed in similar threads on other forums, then I know it's safe to ban them before they even make a post. And we know the addresses are valid because they have to click the email link before they can register here. :fu: :fu:

Wow, I just was going to PM you about managing spam on a board -- my board is picking up and I just started to get hit with these spam type posts and PMs. There are a few good hacks at VB that you can install to help curb the spam -- I'm looking into them now. If I find anything worthwhile, Ill let u know.

You have to rip their arms off, that leaves them alive to discourage other spammers but with no arms they can't send any more.

my servers bounce between 2-100 spam mails per *second*. No joke, this is a near-silent multi-billion dollar cost write-off. Junk e-mail is our single biggest resource hog.

You should enter their email address's in one of those "how to consolidate your debts" sites that list them with 50 other sites. That should keep them busy.
