Matt, you ever go to Bonsai on Bearss? It's actually about a block from that Sonic car meet the other night. That is the best in Tampa in my opinion.

Find me something like that for shrimp and I'll give you a shiny sixpence. Not a big fan of crab. Lobster only on occasion....

I second the shrimp. Can't stand crab, and don't care for Lobster either.

No, never heard of it. I'll check it out some time though.

Personally like the mail order from Legal Sea Foods.
How about a run to Bonzai? Would the parking work?

Yeah, it's a big lot shared with a Beef o' Brady's on one far end and a steak house on the other with strip mall kind of setup in-between, but after 5 only the restaurants are really open so the lot is mostly empty except around the restaurants; plenty of room to park away from door bangers. :)
Prices are pretty reasonable for high quality sushi, I usually get green tea, salad, two unagi (eel), an order of smoked salmon sashimi (4 pieces) and a big roll of some sort and the bill is typically about $28 or so. They have some really unusual rolls too, like Gator Roll with actual fried alligator over top a regular roll.

I'd be down for some sushi some time, its been a while. a lot closer than blue samarai etc.

I'll be in Tampa tomorrow afternoon/night into Saturday if anyone wants to get Sushi! I'm leaving at like 3pm Saturday though so.......
mail order seafood may be the way to go for those who dont live on the coast or want some fresh maine lobster or whatever. I ordered some steaks one time. It came next day in a styrofoam container with dry ice. i imagine seafood would come in a similar fashion. I'd have no problem ordering any seafood from a reputable place.

Steaks I would do, you can actually get some really kick ass deer and other types of high quality meat mail order, overnight with dry ice packing to keep it cool but not frozen.

You guys want to hit some Bonsai Sushi this weekend?
Another Sushi place that is good, but parking not so good, is a place down on Dale Mabry just across the street from CompUSA South, it's maybe two blocks south of the 275 overpass on Dale Mabry, has a yellow sign. Might be better for zzzzdoc since he's in Pinellas and Bonsai would be a good 45 minutes.
I'm down for whatever, i'm in the studio saturday night tracking vocals, but i can work around it. I think i know the place on dale. I'd like to check out bonsai but, whatevers best for everyone.

I'll give zzzzdoc a call in the morning if we don't hear from him, see what he wants to do, we can hit the Dale Mabry place if he doesn't want to come up north, or Bonsai if he doesn't mind or isn't available. Let's see who else gets in on this, freak should be in town now I think and jrfootin and icedemon are here.
If we could get all the locals together that would be cool. Depending on how peoples schedules are, maybe a short cruise would be in order?

www.ediblearrangements.com just dropped off their Delicious Fruit Design arrangement with me. Very yummy. The perks of working on a busy street. :) I've had AAA bring my cookies from Mrs. Fields and Chris Ruth Steak house bring me triple layer chocolate cake. I think I'm going to skip lunch today and go straigh for dessert. Yum!

Bonsai is indeed the place to get some sushi short of hitting SoHo... I usually get the volcano sushi plate there... I don't know what's in it, and I dont care... becuase all I do know is that it's probably the best sushi I've ever had. Not to mention that thier Sweet Tea is ULTRA sweet...
