Curious how they compare to Chin Motorsports for those who have driven with both but if you have only driven at a NASA event please let me know how it went, etc. I'm a huge fan of Chin http://www.chinmotorsports.com but NASA goes to Road Atlanta and Chin doesn't and I'd like to run that track one day, looks like a really fun course with lots of curves, elevation changes, etc.

I joined NASA because a friend of mine tracks his E46 with them. I never actually participated. He loved it though. (Quit 'cause the wifey had a kid.) He took me along as a passenger one time. His helmet got lucky that time. I almost got sick, but hung in there and didn't make him get off the course for me either. Back on topic, the people are separated into levels of experience. After each run they have a debrief and talk about things peopple did right and wrong. I think it's great for feedback on your driving skills. It also seems relatively low cost to participate. I think less than $300 for a weekend and that includes food. There were all types of cars/people there and they seemed down to earth. One of the times I came to watch him, an instructor totalled his car, lol. You also get a subscription to Grass Roots if you join.

Oh, I was reading that as an instructor totaled his own car, did you mean the instructor totaled your friend's car?!

An instructor totalled his own car. Made him look bad considering he's the one telling everyone else what to do.

My instructor spun on the Saturday session of my last track weekend... it wasn't his fault though. :) There was a Ford GT in front of him and the coolant inlet to the engine block decided it wanted to come out so it dumped the anti-freeze all over the track; fortunately they were not in a turn so he just went sliding straight for a while. I guess anti-freeze is the worst thing to have on the track, you can't see it and it's slippery as hell.
