Didn't know where this should go:lol2:
Anyway, does anyone own an H1? How do you like it? Or if not, have you driven them. How are they? I've owned both the H3 (for less than a week lmao) and the H2. But am curious as to how the H1 compares. I know it's definitely a great off road vehicle, but is it ok to drive on normal streets or is it bumpy as all hell?

H3?!?! :fgay:
I can't imagine the H1 would be rougher riding than the G-wagen, the real issue with it is it's a rolling behemoth, where are you going to park the thing? Other less major problems are that your wife will be like five feet away from you so that means hand holding is about all that's gonna happen when riding out in the H1. :) The diff and brakes are up recessed into the vehicle for the super ground clearance so you've only got room for two in the back as well, that can be annoying if you like to drive friends around.

H3?!?! :fgay:
Yes it was part of my gay period:lol2: . I was going to get an H2 and the salesman convinced me of getting the H3 instead. Once home everyone made fun of me lol. I traded it in after like 4 days.

Don't think I've held hands while driving since before we were married:lol2:

how do you like your G wagen?
We just wanna get an SUV for the winter time (don't need it anytime soon), cause as of right now, we'll be screwed when it snows, unless I drive the gallardo :headbang: . And I don't want to get an SUV that every soccer mom in town has that crashes into everything because they can't drive it.

Four days? Even Tom keeps cars longer than that!
I forgot about before marriage vs after marriage. :jackoff: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:
The G-wagen is awesome; it's nice to have a big Mercedes that is rarely seen. I think I've only seen maybe six or seven in Tampa over the past few years. Even stock the G55 has a lot of power, and with easy mods you're pushing well over 600 HP like mine; it's a monster with a very strong engine. The second gen '07's just came out too with the newer generation nav, xenon bulbs, new gauges, etc.; really makes mine look dated but what'cha gonna do. The outside and interior are the same though, only dash and electronics changed. It does have a decent stereo.
The downsides to it are horrible gas mileage, yes worse than the Lambo; I got 12 mpg city or highway before my mods, now I get about 10 at all times. I don't care though, it's so much fun. The ride is very rough due to the suspension so long trips are gonna hurt. They have a long standing issue with power window motors going out for whatever reason; I've replaced one back window motor twice and the other side once, and people online have had the same issue. That's all warrantied of course, just an annoyance.
I wouldn't get rid of it though, it's a sleeper, tons of fun and I love driving it. Here's the video that will make you buy it:

I personally hate the H2 and H3, but the H1 is a REAL hummer, really awesome looking and totally raw, you should go for it :grinning-smiley-003

I've never owned an H1, but I have driven in both street and military configurations. In street, it's the ultimate ride. It's what ever truck/SUV should aspire to be when it grows up. It's drives just like it should: heavy, overbearing, and stout. It's quite noisy on the interior and it sucks being about 10 feet across from the driver and other passengers. The windows truly suck balls (it's a two step process, one to get it half way down, the other to get it all the way down). When you come to a stop, the truck stops, but then starts rocking back and forth for a good 10 seconds. Everything about it sucks comfort wise... but then again... it was never designed for comfort. And because of that, it's perfect.
As for the military version... imagine everything I just said just about 100000000 times worse. The Mil-spec HMVEE doesn't have any sound deadening or even A/C. If it comes with doors, usually they don't have windows that will operate. There are no radios for music purposes, not to mention the seats are about as thin as you can imagine. The 20 minutes I was in it were probably the worst 20 minutes of my life... but, it gets the job done and goes through and over just about anything. Then, of course, there is the one that has a turret and a .50 cal attached to it... If you can manage to get that option for street use, BUY IT!!!

I owned a 1999 H-1 Black/tan soft top Hummer. Had a snorkle, winch, wood kit throughout, rock cruncher wheels with 15.5 X 38 Super swampers, braided air lines, monster stereo etc. That car was one of the best fun vehicles I ever owned. I have since had the H-2 and it was a piece of shit compared to the H-1. The H-1 soft top is the ultimate convertible. Once I took the monster tires off the she car had a great ride.
You need to stay up on the maintanence on them then ytou have no issues. If not you could have a world of trouble. I had my mechanic lune everything and change fluids every 5,000 miles and never had an issue. I will post some pics of the best tonight :headbang:

wow that one's really nice. I like the convertible idea. Can't believe it can drive it that much water. The inside looks like the inside of a boat.:grinning-smiley-003

I had a Black Diamond '99 H1 too when I was 19. I lived in San Francisco. It was a blast, but I don't think I kept it more than 6 months. I did drive it in the city. Got a lot of attention. My girlfriend and I would be playing hip hop really loud all the time, lol. I learned how to parallel park it, although on freeways I had a hard time staying in my own lane. It's really wide, doesn't fit in standard one car garages. Fortunately I had outdoor gated parking available with my loft at the time. It's great for running over things and parking on curbs. It's a gas hog too. Driving to Napa and back for lunch it would go through one of the tanks of gas. It's diesel though. I think it was anyway, haha. The seating isn't the best. It's kind of a waste of space in the back. You can only fit 4 people in it. I had the one with the open back.

Yes it was a fun truck. Drivers side extremely comfortable but for passengers not alot of room. God damn that old garage of mine sure look like shit!
That is the John Day river crossing in Eastern Oregon. It is actually where the wagons on the Oregon trail crossed way back when. Not alot of people know you can cross there. It is funny people all stop and are turning around and you come barreling thru!! They freak:beerchug:

yeah I felt pretty gay driving the h3 too. I got it literally like the first week it was out, so it was pretty much the only one on the road here. Like the second day I had it, I pulled up to a stop light next to an H2 and the guy and girl inside were laughing, I'm assuming at me:fu2: . Anyway, the next day I saw another one on the road, he was pulling into the same parking lot as me - out comes a 90yr old guy with a handicapped sticker. I traded it back in that same day.:lol2:

Yes... they were. :fu:
I pretty much mess with and laugh at any SUV other than the Cayenne TT, that one is a fast beast. :)
