Is the cover just that louvered panel? The roadster's engine is nearly invisible which suggests maybe not all that cooling is necessary so I'm wondering why they went the louvered route instead of just clear bonnet?

Probably just looks better? :) They took some design elements from older Lambo's and incorporated it into the current designs.

^^yeah, definately looks better than a glass cover. I wish they would have left the little vents on

I dunno. In my opinion it shows a little too much color and not enough engine. The transparent engine cover (in my opinion again) was the better route to follow. Would've stayed with the LP640's design. :)

I think you'll find that the louvred engine cover is more of a structural thing than looks. Because it is a roadster they have to add support elsewhere as on a coupe a lot of the cars structural integrity comes from the roof/windsheild.

I dont think a glass cover would look as good on the roadster anyway.
